On the use of Weighted Regression in Conjoint Analysis

چکیده
Conjoint analysis seeks to explain an ordered categorical ordinal variable according to several variables using a multiple regression scheme. A common problem encountered, there, is the presence of missing values in classification-ranks. In this paper, we are interested in the cases where consumers provide a ranking of some products instead of rating these products (i.e. explained variable presents missing values). In order to deal with this problem, we propose a weighted regression scheme. We empirically show (in several cases of weighting) that, if the number of missing values is not too large, the data remain useful, and our results are close to those of the complete order. A simulation study confirms these findings.

Investigation of Customer Priorities for Machine Made Carpet Through Conjoint and Cluster Analysis (Case Study in Yazd, Iran)
The machine made carpet industry is one of the main and most famous industries in Iran and especially in the city of Yazd. However there is little information about customer preferences for different attributes of this product. In this article we tried to estimate the relative importance of the main attributes affecting customer desire for purchasing machine made carpet and the utility values f...
متن کاملDetermining Effective Factors on Land Surface Temperature of Tehran Using LANDSAT Images And Integrating Geographically Weighted Regression With Genetic Algorithm
Due to urbanization and changes in the urban thermal environment and since the land surface temperature (LST) in urban areas are a few degrees higher than in surrounding non-urbanized areas, identifying spatial factors affecting on LST in urban areas is very important. Hence, by identifying these factors, preventing this phenomenon become possible using general education, inserting rules and al...
متن کاملCausal Interaction in Factorial Experiments: Application to Conjoint Analysis∗
Social scientists use conjoint analysis, which is based on randomized experiments with a factorial design, to analyze multidimensional preferences in a population. In such experiments, several factors, each with multiple levels, are randomized to form a large number of possible treatment conditions. To explore causal interaction in factorial experiments, we propose a new definition of causal in...
متن کاملChoice Based Conjoint Analysis: Discrete Choice Models vs. Direct Regression
Conjoint analysis is family of techniques that originated in psychology and later became popular in market research. The main objective of conjoint analysis is to measure an individual’s or a population’s preferences on a class options that can be described by parameters and their levels. We consider preference data obtained in choice based conjoint analysis studies, where one observes test per...

Background and Aim: High concentrations of particulate matter-25 (PM2.5) have been the cause of the unhealthiest days in Tehran, Iran in recent years. This study was conducted with the aim of the spatio-temporal analysis of traffic volume and its relationship with PM2.5 pollutant concentrations in Tehran metropolis, Tehran during 2015-2018, using the Geographic Information System (GIS).
